"The Gold had -something- positive"

.
Just picture... 1988 the Olympic Summer Games in Seoul, Korea. The tension was high as with all sports at Olympics but never ever was the world so focused on one event as this one! The Men's 100 meters sprint! It was American Carl Lewis against Canadian Ben Johnson. Carl won already Gold at the previous Olympics but sadly his dad had passed on on Carls way to Seoul. Carl always stated that it was because of his dad that he came so far in the sport. That's why he gave his Gold 100 Meter Sprint Olympic Medal to his dad. This Medal was buried together with Carl Lewis' dad. Carl was convinced that he would win another to keep for himself but was he prepared to settle for Silver? That summer day in 1988 everything looked well For Carl Lewis. He was in good shape and his opponent Ben Johnson didn't do very well lately. Even during the qualifying round for Olympics it seemed that Ben wasn't in Carl's league. Both men took place at the start and after the gun shot Carl took off as always! Not only had he a very good reflex to start within the gun shot he also had this exquisite technique! Ben on the contrary was all brutal muscle power! Some had wondered over the years that Ben had built some muscles a little "too fast"... Even Carl was more or less convinced that something more than just hard training was involved but never could prove it! Anyway, half way through the race Ben came in first place leaving Carl and the others behind as if they weren't there! Ben won the Gold and Carl only Silver. As sportive as always Carl took the blame on himself by saying that he didn't run a good race. Ben was very proud cause he just had done what nobody ever had expected; beating Carl Lewis! After the Medal ceremony Ben took off as fast as he could to fly back home which was already strange, as if he wanted to hide something... And yes! Only a couple of days later the world would find out what he was hiding. His doping test was positive! Ben had to turn in his Gold Medal which was now given to Carl Lewis one of the greatest athletes off all time in athletics leaving both athletes with something positive...

Re-live that moment when Ben and Carl had the eyes of the world on them:
